we can play live music with full bands later into the night, we can protect everyone from the rain, extreme heat and cold. We will have even bigger musical events and touring artists that we have not been able to get before. I’m very excited to say the least.

I had a dream brothers and sisters. I brought Soulshine to Nashville with the intention of serving great pizza and bringing music to Nashville that you didn’t hear on every street corner. The new country style of music is everywhere here and I don’t have anything against the machine, after all it’s what makes Nashville what it is. Soulshine has been the place where “the musicians hang out” for over four years now. When these cats get off the road they come here to jam. Everyone knows you better bring your “A” game up in here. You can’t just fake your way through the songs to tourists who don’t have any musical knowledge. The best of the best play here. The styles of music here are all over the board, it’s the stuff you don’t hear on popular radio like Blues, Bluegrass, Jam bands, Southern Rock, Reggae, Outlaw Country, Americana, Funk, Jazz Fusion, Funk, Songwriters, and even R and B. Someone has to carry on the tradition of real music that isn’t over produced and laid out on a silver platter for an artist who is a part of a machine, only to be used up and spit out when they aren’t so young and cute any longer. The craft of really being able to play your instrument and play it well is a dying art form all over America. I know that what we do at Soulshine is special and unique. That tradition will continue on for years to come regardless of a certain group of people who tried to shut our music down because of the new noise ordinance that has been passed. We have started the process today of the enclosure of the rooftop patio so we can please the party poopers and make it more like Franklin in midtown. We will be installing garage doors and sliding glass windows this month to keep the music from getting out into the streets. This project will be expensive but we have no choice. I like to see the glass half full, so there are many positives I’m taking from this situation. After we finish closing it in we can play live music with full bands later into the night, we can protect everyone from the rain, extreme heat and cold. We will have even bigger musical events and touring artists that we have not been able to get before. I’m very excited to say the least. I want to thank everyone out there who has supported Soulshine Nashville and let you know that the future is bright for all of us who love real music. Hail Duane Alllman, for those of us who are about to jam, we salute you…
